It’s time for Peter Sadusky’s wake and Liam is asking Jess and the rest of the squad to join him in saying goodbye to his grandfather in the latest episode of “National Treasure: Edge of History.” Famed treasure hunter Riley Poole is attending the wake and he uses his skills to help Jess discover the clue the group learned from the Elvis Presley recording. In the end, Riley lets Jess know that someone in her inner circle may be helping someone else.

This episode finally felt like a proper “National Treasure” episode. While character and themes from the films were present in the first three episodes, this is the one that truly feels like it captured the spirit of the films in the episode. The story of the group of five hunting the treasure and their race against Billie was always moderately interesting, but it finally feels like the stakes are important. This makes me far more intrigued for where the story is headed in the next several episodes.

I’m intrigued to find out if Liam is actually working with Billie or how she found out about the Elvis recording. My first thought is that someone else is betraying them and setting up Liam to take the fall. I’m actually leaning toward Ethan being the one helping Billie. He is Jess’ oldest friend and seems to be willing to do anything to protect her. He’s also very wary of Liam. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn Billie had reached out to him and he thinks he’s doing what’s in Jess’ best interest. I could be entirely wrong, but that’s my thought through four episodes.

This isn’t the best Disney+ Original Series we’ve had so far. This isn’t even the best Disney+ Original Series putting out new episodes right now. That would be “Willow.” But this series is making great strides rather than just starting bland and staying bland. It started slow but has quickly made strides. I wasn’t expecting to come around this fast, but this show has won me over. I’m on board for what happens next.
