Marvel’s “Spider-Man 4” Release Date Revealed
Earlier this week, Tom Holland revealed on the “Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon” that he would be returning to play Spider-Man once again in a fourth film in the franchise and production is set to begin next year.
Today, Sony and Marvel have announced that an untitled “Spider-Man” film will be coming to cinemas on July 24th 2026, just a few months after “Avengers: Doomsday” hits cinemas on May 1st 2026.
It was also confirmed that Destin Daniel Cretton will be directing the upcoming film. Destin has previously directed “Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” and also worked on the upcoming Disney+ Marvel series, “Wonder Man”.
Originally, Destin was linked to working on “Avengers: Kang Dynasty”, before it was changed following the shift away from Kang, with the Russo Brothers returning to direct the next “Avengers” film.
Currently, no other movies have been scheduled for July 24th 2026, and considering the huge box office of “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, which made nearly $2 billion at the box office, it’s likely most major studios will avoid that weekend now.
Amy Pascal and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige are also returning to produce the upcoming “Spider-Man” film.
Recently, Tom Holland has been making lots of publicity appearances to promote his new non-alcoholic beer, teasing the new film and revealing that following his six-picture deal ending, following the release of “Homecoming”, “Far From Home”, “No Way Home”, “Captain America: Civil War”, “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame”. Tom explained that he felt like he had a little more control and was able to share his own ideas for the character.
Roger’s Take: Following Tom’s reveal on the “Tonight Show”, it makes sense for Marvel and Sony just to put their flag in the ground to claim that weekend, while also giving fans some clarity on what’s happening.
Hopefully, we get an update on what Tom’s new contract is, similar to last time, so we have an idea of how many movies he will be appearing in and hopefully, also, Marvel and Sony will do a deal where Marvel takes some creative control of the other films, after Sony’s fumbling of the Spider-Man spin-off live action films like “Madame Web” and “Morbius”.
