The internet has been on fire this week over rumors of new Marvel shows in development for Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+.

While the Loki series has been confirmed by Disney CEO Bob Iger, the other more recently rumored shows featuring Vision & Scarlet Witch, Winter Solider & Falcon, Rocket & Groot and Lady Sif, none of these have officially been announced.

And the latest rumors are that series are being created based on:

  • Hawkeye & Kate Bishop
  • Moonknight
  • Gamora & Nebula
  • Agent 13
  • Nick Fury
  • Hank Pym
  • Ravangers
  • War Machine
  • The Sentry

This ever growing list of potential Marvel shows does seem to be “too good to be true”, while Disney will be wanting to create multiple shows for Disney+, the latest gossip from 4Chan is starting to feel more like a “Wish List”.

Apparently, the Hawkeye series was “Pitched as a ‘caper’ about Hawkeye coming out of retirement to help aspiring vigilante as Kate Bishop after she gets in trouble with organized crime while using his name. Hawkeye’s family would be heavily featured, and Linda Cardellini is willing to return, but Jeremy Renner is still studying his options. The Hood would be the main antagonist, with Trickshot as his enforcer.”

Moonknight has long been rumored to be the next addition to the “Netflix” Marvel universe, since its a much darker character, but with the “Netflix” Marvel universe ending, the chances are slightly higher of it coming to Disney+ as something new.

The problem with these rumors is that they seem to have just exploded over the past week, making it feel more like fan fiction than real projects.  Even if all of these series were going to be made, it would take years for them to all be shown.  And that doesn’t take into account shows that are already being created for Marvel like the Runaways, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Fox shows like the Gifted and the Netflix shows like Jessica Jones and the Punisher.

I would certainly take the latest bunch of rumors with a pinch of salt until we get further information from more credible sources.  I hope all of these shows do get made, but I’m not banking on them and if they did get made, it could be years before we see them.

What do you think of all these new Marvel Disney+ rumors?
