Jake Choi Joins “Honeymoon Friends”
20th Century Studios is currently developing a new film, “Honeymoon Friends”, which is a follow-up to the hit Hulu/Star Original film, “Vacation Friends.”
The original film told the story of Marcus and Emily, who enjoy an unusual week without inhibitions when they meet new friends on vacation, but they are horrified when Ron and Kyla show up uninvited to their wedding. It starred Lil Rel Howery, Yvonne Orji, John Cena and Meredith Hagner, who will be returning for the sequel.
They will be joined by Jake Choi, who has previously starred in “Single Parents”. According to THR, he will likely be playing the role of a dour and confident hotel group executive called Yon, who talks a big game and cuts Marcus (Howery) down the moment they meet – all in efforts to hide his own insecurity. Though as they spend more time together, Yon comes to admire and respect Marcus, and the two form an unlikely friendship.
No other plot details on the film have yet been announced. Clay Tarver will be returning to direct the sequel, along with the writers Tom Mullen, Tim Mullen, and Jonathan Goldstein.
You can watch “Vacation Friends” on Hulu in the United States, on Star+ in Latin America and on Disney+ around the world.
