Just ahead of the release of the new Disney+ Original documentary “Elton John: Never Too Late,” Disney has announced details on a new special of “IMPACT x Nightline” called “Elton John: Still Standing.” The special is hosted by Robin Roberts, who sits down with music legend Elton John to look back at his life and career. 

Two years after taking his final bow on the tour stage and 55 years since his debut in Los Angeles, “IMPACT x Nightline” looks back at the career and life of Elton John. “Good Morning America” co-anchor Robin Roberts sits down exclusively with the iconic singer to talk about the start of his career, as well as some of the highest moments and greatest challenges he faced along the way, including his battle with addiction, abusive childhood and struggles with loneliness.

Additionally, David Furnish joins the conversation with his husband, Elton, to discuss their marriage and their lives as fathers to their two children. The new episode also explores the impact Elton has had on a younger generation of artists, including Lady Gaga, Charlie Puth and Brandi Carlile, who share what it is like working with the legendary musician.

The episode, led by “Good Morning America” co-anchor Robin Roberts, features “Good Morning America”’s exclusive interview with Elton John and new interviews with some of the artists he has mentored, including Lady Gaga, Charlie Puth and Brandi Carlile.

IMPACT x Nightline: “Elton John: Still Standing” is coming to Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ on Thursday 12th December 2024.  Previous episodes of “IMPACT X Nightline” are also available to stream on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+.  

The new episode includes never-before-seen footage from the upcoming Disney+ documentary “Elton John: Never Too Late”, which will be released on Disney+ the day after.
