With the Walt Disney Company purchasing 20th Century Fox, Disney picked up lots of valuable franchises that could be used for its new streaming service and according to the latest rumor from Discussing Film, Blue Skies Studios are working on two new animated projects, one based on Rio and another on Ice Age.
They are saying that the Rio spinoff will focus on Nico and Pedro, who were played by Jamie Foxx and will.i.am, in the two movies.
While the ‘Ice Age’ spinoff will focus on the character, Buck, who was originally played by Simon Pegg and the character appeared in the last three Ice Age movies.
At the moment, very little is known about these spinoffs, such as if they will be a series or movie, and if the original actors will be returning.
Both of these franchises would be a perfect fit for Disney+ and so far, the previous movies haven’t yet been announced for Disney+, so they would make a good addition after the service launches.
