Handsome, The Mess Around, Prison Breaking, & That Was Us Podcasts Coming To Hulu & Hulu On Disney+
Over the past year or so, Disney has been expanding its content offerings to include companion podcasts as a way of increasing engagement. We’ve also seen Disney+ add some sports and news-related podcasts from its ABC News and ESPN brands, in addition to the recent licensing of the “We’re Here to Help” podcast from Jake Johnson and Gareth Reynolds.
Today, Disney is continuing to build out its podcast offerings on Hulu and Disney+ with four new podcasts, “Handsome”, “The Mess Around”, “Prison Breaking”, and “That Was Us”.
These titles will be see new episodes released weekly on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers in the U.S. beginning with “The Mess Around” on April 19th 2026.
Lauren Tempest, General Manager, Hulu & EVP, DTC Content Partnership, said in a statement regarding the new podcasts:
“These podcasts have each built such a passionate fanbase, and we look forward to bringing them to an even broader audience on Hulu. Podcasts have become a strategic part of our content offering and as the lineup continues to grow, we’ll stay creator first and focus on delivering buzzy shows that drive cultural conversation.”
These new licensed additions join a growing slate of companion podcasts tied to Disney+ and Hulu’s most popular series, including Dancing with the Stars, American Idol, Paradise, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Tell Me Lies, FX’s Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette, and Marvel Television’s Daredevil: Born Again.
The addition of “Handsome”, “The Mess Around”, and “That Was Us” builds on Hulu’s collaboration with podcast network Headgum and follows the successful launch of We’re Here to Help in February.
Kaiti Moos, VP, Content at Headgum, added:
“Each of these shows has a special relationship with its audience, and we’re excited to help grow their fanbases even further with an incredible, talent-first collaborator like Hulu. This next chapter allows us to expand, while staying true to existing fans and preserving the experience they love.”

Along the way, they share stories, riff on each other, and generally have a ridiculous time.

Prison Breaking With Sarah & Paul – Premieres April 28

They answer fan questions, run contests, and explore how television—and culture—has evolved since the series premiered in 2005.
Paul Adelstein also said in a statement regarding the show becoming available on Hulu and Disney+.
“Sarah and I started this podcast during the strike because we thought it would be fun to include the Prison Break fandom in what we enjoyed doing together—sharing thoughts and memories about the show and talking about how TV has and hasn’t changed in the intervening years,. It’s great that so many fans have tuned in to rewatch and talk with us, and being on Hulu means even more fans can do just that. As a new chapter of Prison Break gets ready to launch, we love that fans have a place to hear about and experience the show from the very beginning.”
Roger’s Take: It’s very clear that Disney is much more serious about making Disney+ its digital centerpiece, by making more of its content available through its own platform, in addition to more traditional podcast platforms. I don’t think it’s a bad idea that these podcasts become available, especially when they are based on franchises owned by Disney, ie like “That Was Us” or the “Prison Break” themed one. Unfortunately, it’s not yet clear if these podcasts will be available on Disney+ globally, as “We’re Here to Help” is currently only available in the US.
