Hulu Orders “Music Theories” Pilot

Hulu is developing a brand-new comedy series, called “Music Theories”, which is described as VH1 “Behind the Music” meets “American Vandal”, with its first season exploring the shocking true story behind Fountains of Wayne’s hit song “Stacey’s Mom.”

The new show is being created by Michael Vlamis and Kyle Anderson, who are going to write and executive produce the project, with Dan Lagana also working as an executive producer and the showrunner. Colin Davis will also be an executive producer, along with Jody Gerson & David Blackman for Polygram Entertainment.

Michael and Kyle have previously worked on “Blue Slide Park”, along with “Crossword”. Dan Lagana has also previously worked on “American Vandal and “Lifties”.

According to Deadline, Sony Pictures Television is creating the show for Hulu and has been given a pilot script commitment, so it’s still possible that this project doesn’t go ahead or could go through some creative changes during development. As with any pilot, it could be a while until it arrives on our screens.
