At last years D23 Expo, Marvel Studios president Kevin Fiege announced that a new series based on Ms Marvel would be coming to Disney+. While the show has suffered some delays due to the Coronavirus situation, filming on the new show is now underway.
New photos from the set, show actress Imon Vellani, who is a newcomer to acting, but has been part of the Next Wave Committee at the 2019 Toronto Film Festival.
The new photos mainly show Vellani riding a bike, but there is also a photographic showing her and her stunt double covered in a dark sheet to cover her Ms Marvel outfit, as we can see her right leg and foot in her costume’s colors.
Ms Marvel is a Pakistani-American teenager that is based in New Jersey and gains superhuman abilities to stretch and make herself bigger. Ms Marvel will become Marvel Studios’ first onscreen Muslim hero. She will also be making an appearance in other Marvel movies, including Captain Marvel 2.
No plot details on the upcoming Ms Marvel series have yet been announced, with the show being written by Bisha K. Ali, with the show featuring multiple directors including Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and Meera Menon.
A Disney+ release date hasn’t yet been confirmed, but hopefully, it won’t be too long until we know.
