Nina Dobrev & Paul Wesley To Star In New Hulu Original “You Deserve To Know”

20th Television is teaming up with Kapital Entertainment on a brand new original series, “You Deserve To Know” for Hulu/Disney+, which is based on the popular book of the same name by Aggie Blum Thompson.

This new series will follow three suburban couples — next-door neighbours and best friends. When one of their husbands is murdered, a shocking trail of secrets is revealed, and their friendship cracks wide open.

Deadline is reporting that Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley have joined the cast, where they will play Gwen and Scott, two neighbours on opposite sides of a murder investigation, leading them on a collision course.  Nina and Paul have previously worked together on the hit series, “The Vampire Diaries”.

The new show is being written by Brian Tanen, who has previously worked on “Love, Victor” and “Grand Hotel”.  Brian will be an executive producer on the project along with Nina, Paul and Aggie.   Also executive producing the project will be Unwell’s Cooper, Matt Kaplan and Mina Lefevre and Kapital Entertainment’s Kaplan. Co-executive producers are Kapital’s Jaiden Kaplan & Dylan Hammalian and Unwell’s Paul Kim and Kendall Boucher. 

Hulu was able to pick up the project for development after a competitive situation with other networks/streaming services.    No other details, such as when production is set to begin or when we might see it released on Disney+/Hulu, have been revealed.

As with any other project in development, things could change during the production process and might not necessarily arrive on Hulu/Disney+, but fingers crossed, Disney has a new hit show that can take advantage of the chemistry between Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley.
