There are plenty of new original shows and films heading to Disney+ around the world in December 2023, including brand new episodes of the latest Marvel series, “What If?”, plus the debut of a brand new series, “Percy Jackson And The Olympians” and much more.

Here’s a look at the new originals coming to Disney+ in December 2023:

Percy Jackson and the Olympians

“Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” tells the fantastical story of a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson, who’s just coming to terms with his newfound divine powers when the sky god, Zeus, accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. With help from his friends Grover and Annabeth, Percy must embark on an adventure of a lifetime to find it and restore order to Olympus.

This original series will debut on Wednesday, 20th December 2023 with two episodes, with a new episode being released each week.


Marvel’s What If – Season 2

Season two of “What If…?” continues the journey as The Watcher guides viewers through the vast multiverse, introducing brand new and familiar faces throughout the MCU. The series questions, revisits and twists classic Marvel Cinematic moments with an incredible voice cast that includes a host of stars who reprise their iconic roles. Featuring fan-favorite characters this season like Nebula, Hela and Happy Hogan.

A new episode will be released daily from Friday, 22nd December 2023 until the 30th of December


Doctor Who – 60th Anniversary Specials

The 60th anniversary specials continues the story which has seen the Fourteenth Doctor (David Tennant) and Donna Temple-Noble (Catherine Tate) reunite as they come face-to-face with their most terrifying villain yet: the Toymaker.

There will be two 60th Anniversary specials will be released globally (except in the UK/Ireland) on Saturday 2nd and 9th December. There will also be a holiday special released on Christmas Day.


BTS Monuments: Beyond the Star

Featuring never-before-seen interviews, performances and behind-the-scenes moments with RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook, BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star will take audiences on an in-depth journey across the band’s 10-year career, highlighting their highs and lows for the first time ever in a captivating docuseries format.

Two episodes will be released on Disney+ globally from Wednesday, 20th December 2023


Chip ‘n’ Dale: Park Life (Season 2) – Special Christmas Episode

Chip and Dale are as eager as ever to increase their acorn stash. But their tumultuous dynamic makes it hard for things to ever go right. Along with Pluto, Donald, and even more Disney characters, the world’s favorite chipmunk duo take on a brand-new chunk of trouble!

This special Christmas episode is coming to Disney+ on Wednesday 20th December 2023.


The Santa Clauses – Season 2

In the second season, the Calvin family is back in the North Pole as Scott Calvin continues his role as Santa Claus after retirement plans were thwarted when he failed to find a worthy successor in season one. Now that Scott and his family have successfully saved Christmas, Scott turns his focus towards training his son Cal to eventually take over the “family business” as Santa Claus. However, a bit of North Pole magic brings an unexpected challenge to Scott’s plan.

New episodes of “The Santa Clauses” are being released on the first two Wednesday’s in December.


Diary of a Wimpy Kid Christmas: Cabin Fever

The winter holidays are turning out to be especially stressful for Greg Heffley this year. After accidentally damaging a snowplow while making a snowman with best friend Rowley Jefferson, Greg worries he won’t get the new video game console he so desperately wants for Christmas. To make matters worse, he gets snowed in with his family, including his grumpy older brother Rodrick and annoying younger brother Manny.

This all new original film is coming to Disney+ on Friday 8th December 2023.


The Shepherd

The short film is set on Christmas Eve in 1957 and is about a young RAF pilot’s journey home taking a dramatic turn when a mysterious airman appears.

This new short is coming to Disney+ on Friday 1st December 2023


Soundtrack #2 (Korean Original)

Suho and Hyeonseo, who once dated for six years, meet again as a youthful rich CEO and a piano instructor. K works with Suho on a collaborative project and invites Hyeonseo to join them. Suho and Hyeonseo embark on a bumpy romantic journey full of twists and turns. Will history repeat itself?

Two episodes of this Korean original series will be released every Wednesday throughout December


Isabel Preysler, My Christmas

Two-Part Special – Spanish celebrity Isabel Preysler welcomes us in the privacy of her home to show us how she celebrates one of the most memorable dates of the year: Christmas. With her staff’s help, Isabel oversees even the most minute details and shares the joy of the present and the nostalgia of the past with her children.

This Spanish Disney+ Original will be released on Tuesday, 5th December 2023<

And internationally, many other original shows and films are heading to Disney+, which will be released on Hulu in the US.


A Murder At The End Of The World

A Murder at the End of the World is a mystery series with a new kind of detective at the helm – a Gen Z amateur sleuth and tech-savvy hacker named “Darby Hart” (Emma Corrin). In the new limited series, Darby and eight other guests are invited by a reclusive billionaire (Clive Owen) to participate in a retreat at a remote and dazzling location. When one of the other guests is found dead, Darby must put to use all of her combined skills to prove it was in fact murder, all against a tide of competing interests and before the killer takes another life.

A new episode of “A Murder At The End Of The World” will be released on Tuesdays.


Dragons of Wonderhatch

Nagi doesn’t feel she fits in with her surroundings; she lives in the real world and can visualise colours whenever she hears sounds; Tyme lives in the alternate world of Upananta, where a strange phenomenon is occurring.

The first two episodes of this Japanese original series will be released on Wednesday, 20th December 2023


We Live Here: The Midwest

Families hope to stay in a part of the country they love and where they have established deep roots; values of all midwestern families are put to the ultimate test when anti-queer legislation and sentiment are rapidly multiplying across the country.

This new documentary will be released on Wednesday, 6th December 2023


Their Stories

In the series, Isabel learns that her husband used her as a front person in a corruption scheme and has to serve house arrest with her daughter at her former housekeeper Marta’s home. Marta now owns a small take-out business. Her daughter Ana Jasmim helps at the company and dreams of studying fashion. Isabel’s arrival with her daughter Ana Rosa at Marta’s house creates tension in relationships and stirs up unresolved issues from the past. Forced coexistence makes mothers and daughters rethink their relationships and find new roles. Meanwhile, the house lives under the constant threat of a loan shark.

This Latin American Star series is being released on Wednesday, 6th December 2023


Planners – Season 2

As her marriage to Marcos comes to an end, 37-year-old Malena Carregal confronts a vastly different reality — jobless and facing an uncertain future after 15 years of building up the events agency which is now in Marcos’ hands. But in this moment of crisis, Malena meets Cali, an intriguing and ambitious woman who breathes new energy into Malena’s life.

This Latin American Star Original series will be released on Tuesday, 12th December 2023
