This coming August, Disney is releasing some new original programming including a new original movie from Searchlight Pictures, plus plenty of new international originals. There will also be brand new episodes of favourites like “Only Murders In The Building”, “Solar Opposites” and “Futurama”.

Here’s the rundown:

OceanXplorer

The National Geographic series takes audiences aboard the OceanXplorer, OceanX’s state-of-the-art scientific research and exploration vessel, to investigate the farthest frontiers of the world’s oceans, 80% of which are entirely unknown. Armed with advanced technology, a hand-picked team of intrepid explorers and scientists, National Geographic Explorers and other ocean experts embark on a global odyssey to solve some of the ocean’s greatest mysteries through the lives of its animals and their ecosystems. The ship sets sail on a grand adventure – traveling to the depths of the Atlantic in the Azores, diving into the shallows of the Bahamas and warm waters of the Caribbean before embarking north to the frigid arctic shores of Svalbard, Norway. OCEANXPLORERS provides an immersive look at an underwater world of wonder with incredible discoveries that push the boundaries of exploration and our understanding of the ocean like never before.

This new series is going to be released on Monday 19th August 2024.

Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures (Season 2)

“Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures” Season 2 follows the younglings as they continue their training and embark on even bigger missions across the galaxy. Helping to lead the younglings on these missions is Master Zia’s new Padawan, Wes Vinik, and his astromech RO-M1. As they continue their training and grow in the ways of the Force, the young Jedi will travel to new planets with new and old friends and encounter adversaries like The Ganguls, who are growing in their pirate ranks…

The second season of “Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures” will arrive on Disney+ on Wednesday 14th August 2024.

Are You Sure?!

Jimin and Jung Kook enjoy both a summer-time ocean and a snowy ski resort, allowing fans of the group — collectively known as ARMY — to get a behind-the-scenes look as the pair road trip together.

The first two episodes of this Disney+ Original will be released on Thursday 8th August 2024, with a new episode released each week.

There are also plenty of new originals coming to Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States, which are also released as Star Originals on Disney+ around the world, including:

The Supremes at Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat

The movie follows lifelong best friends Odette (Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor), Barbara Jean (Sanaa Lathan), and Clarice (Uzo Aduba) known as “The Supremes”, who share the unbreakable bonds of sisterhood from decades of weathering life’s storms. Through the joys and sorrows of life, marriage and children, happiness and blues, love and loss, new shades of heartbreak and illness threaten to stir up the past when the trio sees their bond put to the test as they face their most challenging times yet.

This new original movie from Searchlight Pictures will arrive on 23rd August 2024.

Only Murders In The Building – Season 4

In season four of “Only Murders in the Building”, our amateur podcasting trio wrestles with the shocking events at the end of season three surrounding Charles’ stunt double & friend Sazz Pataki. Questioning whether she or Charles was the intended victim, their investigation leads them all the way to Los Angeles where a Hollywood studio is readying a film about the Only Murders podcast. As Charles, Oliver & Mabel race back to New York, they embark on an even more epic journey — traversing their building’s courtyard to delve into the twisted lives of the Arconia’s West Tower residents.

Solar Opposites: Season 5

A team of four aliens escape their exploding home world only to crash land into a move-in ready home in suburban America. They are evenly split on whether Earth is awful or awesome. Korvo (Justin Roiland) and Yumyulack (Sean Giambrone) only see the pollution, crass consumerism, and human frailty while Terry (Thomas Middleditch) and Jesse (Mary Mack) love humans and all their TV, junk food and fun stuff. Their mission: protect the Pupa, a living super computer that will one day evolve into its true form, consume them and terraform the Earth.

The fifth season will be released on Monday, 12th August 2024

Futurama – Season 12

On this orbit around the sun, our occasionally heroic crew embarks on mind-bending adventures involving birthday party games to the death, the secrets of Bender’s ancestral robot village, A.I. friends (and enemies), impossibly cute beanbags, and the true 5 million-year-old story behind the consciousness-altering substance known as coffee. And, of course, the next chapter in Fry and Leela’s fateful, time-twisted romance.

NO WAY OUT: The Roulette

Upon release of an unprecedented heinous criminal from prison, a public bounty with a payout of 20 billion won is offered for his murder. Baek Joong Sik is the detective who must protect this killer from the citizens. Kim Kook Ho is the heinous criminal and murderer released from prison after serving thirteen years. He retains Lawyer Lee Sang Bong as his legal representative. Meanwhile, Yoon Chang Jae is a butcher who attempts to recover his missing money.

New episodes are being released every Wednesday.

Muslim Matchmaker

“Muslim Matchmaker” is a groundbreaking, unscripted series from “Indian Matchmaking” creator Smriti Mundhra’s Meralta Films, produced for ABC News Studios. Matchmakers Hoda and Yasmin are on a mission — to help Muslim American singles find their lifelong partner while staying true to their faith. This duo isn’t messing around with modern dating apps and hook-up culture. From cringey first dates to moments of profound connection, Hoda and Yasmin support their clients in navigating the complexities of dating with the intention of marriage while staying true to their values and beliefs.

This new Hulu/Star Original will be released on August 20th 2024.

The Tyrant

After years of seeing their country be suppressed by foreign powers, a group of rogue scientists working within the South Korean government begin to a develop a virus that will put their country on a level playing field with the world’s most powerful nations. Referred to as “The Tyrant Project”, the virus holds limitless potential for the advancement of humanity. However, before the project can be finalized, a group of US agents uncover the plan and demand that all samples be handed over.

Unwilling to kowtow and give up his research to the Americans, the group’s leader hires a black ops team to recover his work, but when things go south during the attack, parties on both sides will be left scrambling to recover the virus and use it to advance their own ends.

This new original Korean series will be released on Wednesday, 14th August 2024.

The Zone: Survival Mission: Season 3

In the eagerly awaited third instalment of this hit variety show, Kwon Yuri and Yu Jaeseok return alongside “Single’s Inferno” star Dex and former UFC fighter Kim Donghyun, as the four hosts find themselves fighting to survive in a series of progressively more hilarious challenges. Previously pitted against zombies, a haunted hospital, glue traps, puzzles and more, tune in to find out what laugh-out-loud challenges await.

The third season of this Korean original will be released on Wednesday, 7th August 2024.
