Disney+ is set to include many high profile exclusive series, including multiple series from Star Wars and Marvel.  With the quality of these shows set to be as high as movie, these new shows won’t be cheap, as Disney is sparing no expense on programming for the new streaming service, as it’s projecting its 2020 original content budget short of $1 billion.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, The Mandalorian is said to cost $15 million per episode.  While the upcoming episodes from Marvel, including The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision and Hawkeye, set to cost at as much as $25 million per episode.

For a 6 episode season, this would mean a budget of $150 million, which is around the same price as a non-Avengers movie.

Current Marvel shows such as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. have been reported to have a budget of around $6-9 million per episode. So the upcoming Disney+ shows will have a much higher budget to deliver the quality fans are used to from Marvel movies.

What do you think of these big budget shows coming to Disney+?
