Disney+ Hosts “Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story” Premiere In Liverpool
To tie in with the release of the new Disney+ Original documentary series, “Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story”, Disney has held a special screening
Also attending the premiere event were members of Rooney family, including Coleen’s parents, Colette and Tony McLoughlin, along with her brothers, Joe and Anthony. Wayne’s mum, Jeanette, and his brothers, John and Graeme Rooney also attended the premiere event.
The series uncovers one of the biggest tabloid news stories in Britain for the last decade, it reveals how Coleen turned amateur online sleuth to find an explanation for why private stories concerning herself and her family continued to appear in the media. It examines the circumstances that led to her infamous Instagram post that ‘broke the internet’ all the way to Coleen successfully defending herself in one of the UK’s highest-profile High Court defamation cases of recent years. As well as the case itself, it will explore how Coleen has had her life played out in public for the last 20 years.
The incredible story will be told through exclusive access to the woman at the heart of it all, alongside interviews with her family, legal team and key players involved in the resulting trial.
The Disney+ Original documentary is made by Dorothy Street Pictures and Lorton Entertainment. Executive Producers are Julia Nottingham, Emma Tutty, Sam Starbuck, Julian Bird, Ed Barratt and Paul Stretford. The series is directed and produced by Lucy Bowden.
The three-part series is available to stream now on Disney+ in many countries around the world, including the UK, Canada and Australia. The series is also available on Hulu in the U.S.
