Disney has released a new video showcasing some of the upcoming Korean Original series coming out later this year on Disney+ around the world and Hulu/Hulu On Disney+ in the United States.

K-Dramas have been a huge success for Disney, which have helped the streaming service get a huge audience in Korea with shows such as “Moving”, “Snopdrop”, “The Impossible Heir”, “Wonderful World”, “Big Bet”, “The Worst Of Evil” and many more, all of which are available on Hulu/Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ around the world.

Some of the shows featured in the highlight video include “Blood Free”, which is set in a future where humans no longer consume natural animal meat. The world is dominated by the biotechnology company BF Group , which controls the market for artificially cultured meat. However, sceptics of the company – both internally and externally – begin to emerge, throwing it into turmoil

“Chief Detective 1958″, which will be coming out in April and is a prequel to the classic Korean series “Chief Inspector”. The series follows the story of Park Young Han (Lee Je Hoon), a passionate detective who boasts the highest arrest rate of petty thieves, as he teams up with three charismatic colleagues to break the norms of corruption.

“Uncle Samsik” will be coming out in May and is set in 1960s Korea, a time of great social and political upheaval, Uncle Samsik tells the story of a young idealist man who is driven to turn his country’s fortunes around. The man attracts the attention of a shady fixer, who adapts to any situation and takes whatever steps necessary to help him accomplish his boss’ goals.

“Red Swan”, which will be out later this year, follows Oh Wansoo , a woman born into an impoverished family who turned her life around by becoming a world-class golfer – attracting the attention of many, including her future husband, heir to the Hwain Group, Kim Yongguk. Struggling to clear her mother’s debt, Wansoo agreed to marry Yongguk but quickly became unhappy after discovering her husband’s infidelities. For over ten years, she has stayed with her husband, determined to make it work, but things quickly begin to change on the biggest night of her life. Shortly after arriving in Manila for her debut appearance as a Goodwill Ambassador, Wansoo is caught in the middle of a hail of gunfire, narrowly escaping thanks to the heroic actions of the company bodyguard, Seo Doyoon. Soon after, Wansoo begins to develop feelings for Doyoon, reconsidering her whole life up until that night — but little does she know Doyoon’s real motivation for working for the Hwain Group.

“The Tyrant” will also be coming out in the second half of 2024 and tells the story of what happens after years of toiling away on a secret project designed to drastically enhance human abilities, the Korean government’s plan is exposed by U.S. intelligence agencies. Furious about being kept in the dark, the U.S. demands all samples be handed over, and the project be immediately shut down. But when the covert handover is attacked by an unknown party, agents from both sides will have to work together to avoid the dangerous new formula falling into the wrong hands.

Other new shows heading to our screens in the second half of 2024 include “Unmasked”, “The Light Shop” and “Gangnam B-Side”.

“Unmasked” is set in modern-day Seoul, Unmasked follows a crack team of investigative journalists who are fighting for their careers after broadcasting a controversial story. With time running out, the team are given an impossible task if they want to save their jobs — solve a 20-year-old cold case involving a famous actor who disappeared without a trace.

While “The Light Shop” is about follows a group of strangers, each struggling to come to terms with a traumatic event in their past. Going about their daily lives, each individual is mysteriously drawn to a light shop that sits at the end of a seedy alleyway. Guarded by a vigilant shopkeeper, the light shop could hold the key to the strangers’ pasts, presents and futures.

And “Gangnam B-Side” is a thrilling crime drama that follows a pariah detective pulled back into the game after his daughter’s friend goes missing. The latest in a long line of women to go missing in the Gangnam area of Seoul, the detective will delve back into a world of vice, drugs and corruption to uncover something that threatens to topple some of the city’s wealthiest elite.
