Disney+ Has Been Downloaded 22 Million Times On Mobile Devices
Disney+ launched a month ago and according to independent app-tracking company Apptopia, the app has been downloaded 22 million times on mobile devices. With an average of 9.5 million daily active mobile users and ranking in both the top spots on both the Apple and Google app stores.
This doesn’t include any downloads on other non-mobile devices like smart TVs, Roku, game consoles, Apple TV or desktop web browsers.
Apptopia has also estimated that Disney+ has brought in $20 million in revenue from the app. That number is based on both monthly and annual subscriptions, but Disney will lose a percentage of that to Apple and Google. It’s also worth noting that this wouldn’t have included any signups directly via DisneyPlus.com. So that number will be much higher.
85% of Disney+ downloads and daily users are in the U.S, though it is available in Canada, Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand. Disney+ will have a major push in March when it launches in most Western European countries including the UK, Germany, Italy, France and Spain. With a Latin America release due in late 2020.
Personally I’ve got Disney+ installed on two mobile devices, in addition to other devices, so the number of downloads could be higher than the amount of subscribers.
How many devices have you downloaded Disney+ on?
