Following the huge success of live-action adaptations of its animated classics like “The Lion King”, “Beauty And The Beast” and “Aladdin”, Disney has been slowly working its way through its back catalogue of animated films for theatrical and Disney+ releases, with “Lilo & Stitch” and “Hercules” set to be brought to our screens in the future.

And the next adaptation to hit our screens is going to be “Snow White”, which is currently scheduled to arrive in cinemas on March 22nd 2023; however, if the film needs to finish the reshoots it was currently in the middle of before the actor’s strike began, it could be delayed.

“Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” was the first ever full-feature film from Walt Disney, and it was released back in 1937.  It told the story of love and friendship, where the kind and beautiful princess Snow White wins the hearts of the Seven Dwarfs and triumphs over the evil plans of a wicked Queen.

The new live-action version stars Rachel Zegler in the title role, with Gal Gadot as Snow White’s Stepmother, The Queen, who recently spoke with GQ to promote her new Netflix film, “Heart Of Stone” and was asked about the upcoming film, to which she said:

“It was the first time I had to kind of audition for a project in a while. They needed to make sure I can sing because this is a musical. So, for a month, I was working on the song, and then I auditioned, and we filmed the song, and I got the part, and it was very exciting.”

She also shared a little more about the making of the film:

“It was so much to shoot because it’s so different from anything I’ve ever done. It’s so delicious and delightful, and I could really go big and theatrical.”

The new live-action version is directed by Marc Webb, produced by Marc Platt, and it features new songs by Tony-, Grammy- and Oscar-winning songwriters Pasek and Paul.

The original animated version of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” is available to stream now on Disney+.

Are you looking forward to the new live-action version of “Snow White”?
