Disney has released the first official photo from the upcoming live-action musical reimaging of the classic 1937 animated film, “Snow White”, which stars Rachel Zegler as the title character and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen. The photo also gives us our first look at the seven dwarfs: Dopey, Grumpy, Sneezy, Bashful, Happy, Sleepy and Doc.
Here’s a first look at “Snow White”:
Over the past few months, the film has also suffered from a backlash for multiple reasons. Earlier this year, some images from the set were leaked out onto the internet, causing a considerable backlash, as the photos showed a variety of stand-in actors representing “bandits” rather than dwarfs. However, this new image clearly shows some computer-generated dwarfs, which look much more like the original film.
Due to the ongoing actors’ strike causing problems with getting the filming completed, Disney has also announced that it has delayed the movie, from its initial March 2024 date, a whole year to March 21st 2025, which will hopefully give them time to complete filming. This extra time might also allow them more time to work on reworking the film to keep more die-hard Disney fans happy, as many were not happy with how the film was being portrayed in previous interviews with Rachel Zegler have also been doing the rounds on the internet, indicating how much the new film was different from the original.
“Snow White” is directed by Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man 2), produced by Marc Platt (The Little Mermaid) and includes original songs from Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (The Greatest Showman).
