“Mickey’s Home Alone” Coming Soon To Disney+
It might be the middle of June, but Disney is already getting in the holiday spirit by announcing a brand new full-length animated special called “Mickey’s Home Alone”, which is set to debut in the 2026 holiday season on Disney Jr. and Disney+.
In “Mickey’s Home Alone,” Mickey can’t wait to spend Christmas at home. His plans take a turn when Minnie surprises him and the gang with tickets to spend Christmas at a world-famous Ice Palace. In the morning rush to make it out the door, Mickey and Pluto are left behind and home alone. While Mickey and Pluto must protect their home from two feisty villains, a raccoon and a weasel who are after their Christmas dinner, Minnie and the gang desperately try to make their way back home to Mickey.
The special features include original songs “Ho-Ho-Home for Christmas” and “Favourite Christmas Feeling” by songwriter Keith Harrison Dworkin, and a new arrangement of the holiday classic “Jingle Bells,” with a score by Tony Morales.
“Mickey’s Home Alone” is produced by Wild Canary in association with Disney Jr. The special is executive-produced by Tom Rogers and co-executive-produced by Rachel Ruderman, with Shane Prigmore as director.
Roger’s Take: There’s no doubt in my mind that this is a tongue-in-cheek homage to the classic “Home Alone” film, as Mickey has to deal with two villains trying to invade his home! With the success of “Home Alone” on Disney+ every year, it makes sense for Disney to try to capitalise on that interest, especially with something that’ll bring back viewers year after year.
