“Memes & Nightmares” Trailer Released

Disney has released a new trailer for the upcoming documentary by Andscape called “Memes & Nightmares”, which is a hilarious and insightful satirical film that dives into the vibrant world of NBA Twitter.

Guided by the witty and iconic social-media personality Josiah Johnson (aka King Josiah) and his equally hilarious co-star Jamel Johnson (no relation!), the film weaves a dark, satirical buddy-cop mystery as “the Brothers Johnson” unravel the culture of memes, viral moments, and digital fandom that have turned basketball into a 24/7 cultural phenomenon.

Packed with humour, unforgettable stories, unexpected guests, and the absurd brilliance of internet culture, Memes & Nightmares reveals how social media has forever transformed the way the NBA is experienced and celebrated. Whether you’re a die-hard NBA fan, a lover of memes, or someone who thrives on the chaos and creativity of the internet, this film offers a unique look at the intersection of sports and digital culture.

The film was directed by and written by Charles Todd and Matt Mitchener.  It has been executive produced by LeBron James, Maverick Carter, Jason Aidoo, Mary Almonte, Louis Arbetter, Dwayne Bray, Philip Byron, Yasmin Grant, Max Hirsch, Devin Johnson, Josiah Johnson, Robert Kandle, Jamal Henderson, Allison Polly, Sheira Rees-Davies, Erica Smith, and Michael Smith.

“Memes & Nightmares”  stars Josiah Johnson, Jamel Johnson, J.R. Smith, Flavor Flav, Jalen Rose, Metta World Peace, Gilbert Arenas, Matt Barnes, Jemele Hill, Darius Miles, The Kid Mero and Ros Gold.   It has been produced by Uninterrupted, Starry, Scheme Engine and the PepsiCo Content Studio.

This new documentary from Andscape, will be coming to Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ on February 20th 2025.  No international Disney+ release has been announced.
