20th Television Developing ‘Do You Want Kids?’ Comedy Series
Disney’s 20th Television is developing a new comedy project for ABC called “Do You Want Kids”, which is about a husband and wife who in one universe have a baby and the other do not, and the many ways that huge decision alters their lives.
Rachel Bloom is going to star in one of the lead roles, having previously starred in “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” and “Reboot”. She is also writing the project with her husband, Dan Gregor, who both worked together on “Crazy Ex-Girlgriend”.
Dan also previously worked on the Disney+ Original films, “Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers” and “Magic Camp”. They will also be executive producing the series, along with Danielle Stokdyk.
The new single-camera half-hour comedy will also be executive produced by Steve Levitan, who is behind many hit comedy shows, such as “Modern Family,” and “Just Shoot Me.” Steve previously worked with Rachel on the Hulu Original series, “Reboot”.
According to Deadline, ABC was able to pick up the project in a competitive situation against other studios.
As with other shows created for ABC, expect to see it premiere on the ABC linear channel and released on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ internationally.
