Tom Holland To Return As Spider-Man For “Avengers: Doomsday”
Recently, Tom Holland revealed that he had recently read an early script for the upcoming fourth “Spider-Man” film, but it’s been revealed that he will be suiting back into the role for the upcoming Avengers movies, “Doomsday” and “Secret Wars”.
Marvel’s “Avengers: Doomsday” is set to begin filming in the spring and will be directed by the Russo Brothers, who previously directed “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame”. Also set to return for the new film will be Robert Downey Jr, who will be playing the role of Victor Von Doom, rather than playing his iconic role of Iron Man.
Other characters known to be appearing in the new “Avengers” movies include Doctor Strange and the Fantastic Four, though we should expect many others to appear.
According to THR, Tom Holland has signed up to star in a new mystery film by Christopher Nolan, which will be released by Universal Studios on July 17th, 2026. Filming is expected to begin in early 2025.
In order to film the new Christopher Nolan movie, Tom will be juggling filming “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Spider-Man 4”, which was delayed enough to allow Zendaya to film “Dune 3” in early 2026.
Unlike the previous “Avengers” movies, “Infinity War” and “Endgame”, which were filmed back to back, the next two “Avengers” movies won’t be. It’s also expected that the next “Spider-Man” film will be released in between the “Avengers” movies, though nothing has been officially confirmed.
Roger’s Take: Tom Holland looks like he is going to be very busy next year, and doing another project that isn’t related to Spider-Man makes a lot of sense on multiple levels. Mixing major Marvel films with other projects gives Tom something different to put his creativity into and mix things up for him, which is also good for audiences, so he’s not just pigeonholed into one role.
