“Abbott Elementary” Season 4 Premiere Ratings Skyrocket
Earlier this month, the fourth season of the popular comedy series, “Abbott Elementary,” was released on ABC, Hulu and Hulu On Disney+.
In this workplace comedy, a group of dedicated, passionate teachers — and a slightly tone-deaf principal — are brought together in a Philadelphia public school where, despite the odds stacked against them, they are determined to help their students succeed in life. Though these incredible educators may be outnumbered and underfunded, they love what they do — even if they don’t love the school district’s less-than-stellar attitude toward educating children.
Disney has announced some viewing figure data from Nielsen for the premiere episode, which was released on the 9th of October and across the first seven days, the premiere was watched by 6.19 viewers between ABC, Hulu, Hulu On Disney+ and other digital platforms in the United States.
The season four premiere pulled in a 2.17 rating for adults between 18-49 and was able to increase its initial Live + Same Day audience by 191% in Total Viewers (6.19 million vs. 2.13 million) and a whopping +486% in Adults 18-49 (2.17 rating vs. 0.37 rating).
In fact, the season four premiere of “Abbott Elementary” stands as its top multiplatform telecast in Adults 18-49 since the show’s spectacular post-Oscars episode (3/10/24).
With anticipation building over the long summer break, the season four premiere rose over the season three finale in Adults 18-49 by +9% (2.17 rating vs. 2.00 rating on 5/22/24).
“Abbott Elementary” stars Emmy Award winner Quinta Brunson as Janine Teagues, Tyler James Williams as Gregory Eddie, Janelle James as Ava Coleman, Chris Perfetti as Jacob Hill, Lisa Ann Walter as Melissa Schemmenti, William Stanford Davis as Mr. Johnson and Emmy Award winner Sheryl Lee Ralph as Barbara Howard.
Quinta Brunson created the series and serves as executive producer alongside Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker of Delicious Non-Sequitur Productions, Randall Einhorn and Brian Rubenstein. The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television and 20th Television, a part of Disney Television Studios.
The first three seasons, along with the first few episodes of the fourth season, are available to stream now on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States. The series has also been released internationally on Disney+.
