This May, 20th Century Studios is releasing a new instalment in one of its longest-running franchises, “Planet Of The Apes” in cinemas around the world on May 10th 2024.

“Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes” is set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign, in which apes are the dominant species living harmoniously, and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all he has known about the past and make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.

The new movie is directed by Wes Ball (the “Maze Runner” trilogy) and stars Owen Teague (“IT”), Freya Allan (“The Witcher”), Kevin Durand (“Locke & Key”), Peter Macon (“Shameless”), and William H. Macy (“Fargo”).

The screenplay is by Josh Friedman (“War of the Worlds”) and Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver (“Avatar: The Way of Water”) and Patrick Aison (“Prey”), based on characters created by Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver, and the producers are Wes Ball, Joe Hartwick, Jr. (“The Maze Runner”), Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, Jason Reed (“Mulan”), with Peter Chernin (the “Planet of the Apes” trilogy) and Jenno Topping (“Ford v. Ferrari”) serving as executive producers.

When Is “Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes” Released?

“Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes” will be released exclusively in cinemas on May 10th, 2024. It was originally scheduled to be released later in the month for Memorial Day, but it was pulled forward by a couple of weeks to avoid competition with “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” and “The Garfield Movie.”

When Will “Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes” Be On Disney+?

Currently, no official Disney+ release date has yet been announced.  Once an official release date has been announced, this page will be updated.

Over the past few years, Disney has been experimenting with its streaming release schedule strategy, so it can be difficult to predict exactly when a new movie will be arriving on Disney+.

During the pandemic era, Disney increased the speed at which a movie arrived on Disney+ after a theatrical release, going down to just sixty days for some major releases. However, things are slowly returning to how they were before the pandemic, with much longer periods between a theatrical and streaming release, to increase revenue from the box office and digital sales.

Most recently, “Wish” and “Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny” took almost five months to arrive on Disney+.  So if “Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes” takes the same amount of time, we are likely to see the movie arrive on Disney+ in the Fall, likely during September or October.

While we wait for “Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes” to be released, you can find the previous films available on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ internationally.
