This summer, Searchlight Pictures is releasing a brand new original film called, “Theater Camp”, which has been created by Tony Award winner Ben Platt and Molly Gordon, who also star as Amos and Rebecca-Diane – lifelong best friends and drama instructors at a rundown camp in upstate New York. When clueless tech-bro Troy (Jimmy Tatro) arrives to run the property (into the ground), Amos, Rebecca-Diane and production manager Glenn (Noah Galvin) band together with the staff and students, staging a masterpiece to keep their beloved summer camp afloat.

The mockumentary, which has received critical acclaim at both the Sundance Film Festival and SXSW Film Festival, is written by Galvin, Gordon, Lieberman and Platt, and based on their short film. The film was produced by Will Ferrell, Galvin, Gordon, Lieberman, Platt, Erik Feig, Samie Kim Falvey, Julia Hammer, Ryan Heller, Maria Zuckerman, and Jessica Elbaum.

When Is “Theater Camp” Released?

“Theater Camp” is being released exclusively in cinemas around the world this summer, with different release dates in different countries. In the United States and Canada, “Theater Camp” arrives in selected theatres on July 14th 2023. While in the UK, the film arrives in selected cinemas, a month later on August 25th 2023 and in Australia, the film doesn’t arrive in cinemas until September 7th 2023.

When Will “Theater Camp” Be On Disney+?

Disney has announced that “Theater Camp” will be arriving on digital platforms to purchase, along with Hulu in the United States and on Disney+ in Canada on September 14th 2023.    This means the film will have a 60 day theatrical exclusive window.

Since the film was released in cinemas at a later date in some countries such as the UK and Australia, subscribers in these countries will likely have to wait until November to enjoy the film at home on Disney+.

Is “Theater Camp” Coming To Disney+ Premier Access?

Disney has confirmed that following the release of “Jungle Cruise”, it won’t be using Disney+ Premier Access, instead offering selected movies exclusively in cinemas first, before being released on Disney’s streaming services.

What Time Will “Theater Camp” Be Released On Disney+

Disney+ updates daily at the following times:

• Pacific Time: 00:00 AM / Midnight
• Eastern Time: 03:00 AM
• UK: 08:00 AM
• Sydney, Australia – 19:00 PM

Sometimes films can arrive a few minutes later as the servers update. The Disney+ front page usually updates about an hour later.
