WORLD’S BIGGEST HAMMERHEAD?

Numerous reports of giant great hammerhead sharks, up to twenty feet in length, have put the actual size potential of this species into question. A team of scientists from Florida International University is now on an expedition off the Florida coast to try and find the world’s biggest hammerhead, taking them from the numerous bridges of the Florida Keys to the sharky waters of the Bahamas.

JAWS VS. BOATS

All across YouTube, viral videos abound of great whites and other sharks attacking boats with a ferocity and anger that has never been seen before. The question is, why? Is this simply a case of more people having cameras to video the behavior, or is something else happening? Dr. Mike Heithaus and Ph.D. candidate Sara Casareto set out to investigate what’s causing this clash between sharks and boats.

SHARK SIDE OF THE MOON

The moon has an impact on animal species around the globe, but there’s never been a connection drawn between the lunar cycle and sharks. One scientist thinks the moon plays an important role in the migration and life cycle of the scalloped hammerhead, and he’s on a mission to see if his hypothesis is true. If there’s a tie between the hammerhead shark and the moon, there could be a tie with other shark species as well … with a profound impact on both shark science and conservation.

SHARKS THAT EAT EVERYTHING

Dive into the jaw-dropping stories of anyone and anything that’s found themselves prey to the deadliest, toothiest terrors of the sea. The boundless hunger and curiosity of sharks can lead them to chow down on the most unexpected things, such as big game like hippos and crocs or inanimate objects like kayaks, cages and chicken coops.

CAMO SHARKS

Can sharks change color at will to enhance their predatory abilities? Through groundbreaking experiments, revered shark biologists answer this evolutionary question. Shark scientists Dr. Ryan Johnson and Ph.D. candidate Gibbs Kuguru hope to capture real-time pigmentation changes to understand how these apex ocean predators manipulate their skin’s dermal cells to activate camouflage.

WHEN SHARKS ATTACK (Six-Episode Series)

Shark attacks seem to be on the rise in North America and beyond! But what’s causing the alarming uptick in human and shark encounters? Scientists investigate first-hand accounts, uncovering clues and details that will unravel the mystery behind the terrifying shark attack spike. The answers will impact beachgoers around the globe.

SKY SHARKS

If you go down to the beach today, you could get a big surprise! Drones are revolutionizing everything that we thought we knew about sharks. And the biggest surprise? That many sharks live closer to our shores than we might like to imagine. It’s time to look behind you; the ocean’s top predator could be much closer than you think!

MAUI SHARK MYSTERY

Every year tiger sharks gather in big numbers in Maui. What’s the cause? It’s a mystery that’s a decade in the making. Now, a team of fearless shark scientists gets hands-on with one of the ocean’s largest predators to find out. That means free diving, face-to-face and unprotected. But these young women will do whatever it takes to get the data they need to crack the case.

COUNTING JAWS

Shark encounters off the coast of California are skyrocketing. Now, a team of researchers is on a mission to investigate a newly discovered white shark hot spot close to popular beaches and determine how many great whites are out there. Their expedition will bring them face-to-face with some of the biggest sharks on the planet.

SHARK QUEENS

In the animal kingdom, males are often presumed to be the most dominant. But in the ocean, does this presumption hold water? Scientists search for answers to understand if the biggest and baddest sharks of them all are female. From the great white sharks of South Africa to the tiger sharks in the Maldives, the team seeks to uncover the ultimate rulers of the waves.

BABY SHARKS

Even the biggest, fastest and fiercest predators start as babies. Baby sharks are cute, but they need to grow up fast because out of more than 500 species of sharks, not one parent sticks around to help raise them. Sharks are found in every ocean across the planet and have evolved in extraordinarily different ways to carry their young and give birth and for baby sharks to thrive.

Where are all the Korean, Chinese, and other Asian shows seen on Disney in the rest of the world? So far all we have is Snowdrop- good, and Delious Destiny- awful. The latter is badly written and acted along with truly awful fat portrayal and attempted fat humor.

    1. Trisha July 8, 2022

I agree! There are so many great Asian shows on Disney plus in Asia. Why is Disney withholding these in the US?

  12. Joey Keyser June 26, 2022

I was hoping "Stanley" would be added to Disney+. I heard that this series has 3 seasons (65 episodes). I hope Disney+ can add this show sometime in 2022. I feel this show is very important because it's educational and entertaining at the same time. We really need important shows like "Stanley" available. I also have some questions. Does Disney+ have an archive section? Is Disney+ part of the Walt Disney Company? How does Disney+ come up with release schedules every month? Will Disney+ add "Stanley"? How did Disney+ find the show called "Out of the Box"? I found out that "Stanley" premiered on September 15, 2001. I've been writing comments every month, why hasn't anyone responded to me and my questions? This may be a good time to bring back nostalgic shows. I was thinking, if whatsondisneyplus.com made a post about "Rolie Polie Olie", and a post about "Bear in the Big Blue House", maybe whatsondisneyplus.com can make a post about "Stanley". And maybe Disney can make a DVD complete series of the show "Stanley". What do you think?

    1. Erin Ordakowski June 29, 2022

      1. They already added Rolie Polie Olie to Disney+, last year, in September. 2. I heard, last year, that Disney is in no rush to put Bear in the Big Blue House up on Disney+. 3. I've thought a lot this year about what you said awhile ago about you being willing to wait until September for Disney to add Stanley to Disney+ because of your birthday and ... I think we can wait until then for them to do that. And 4. This year, in October, it will be the 25-year-anniversary for Bear in the Big Blue House. I looked, and I counted, so I think we can wait until then for them to add that show to Disney+. While we're waiting for them to add both of those shows to Disney+, I'm expecting them to add other shows to Disney+, such as: PB&J Otter, JoJo's Circus, The Legend of Tarzan, I'm in the Band, Totally Circus, Totally in Tune, Dave the Barbarian, and Brandy and Mr. Whiskers, and the 20th Century Fox movie, Monte Carlo. Also, Joey Keyser, it has been awhile since we last talked. How have you been?

      1. Joey Keyser July 7, 2022

Hi Erin, I'm doing fine. And yes, it has been a while since we last chatted. Since I was thinking about Stanley being added to Disney+, I found a petition about adding Stanley to Disney+. If you want Stanley on Disney+, you can sign the petition. Here is the link. (https://www.change.org/p/the-walt-disney-company-put-disney-s-stanley-on-disneyplus?recruiter=985370273&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=share_petition&utm_term=share_petition&recruited_by_id=0bfebbc0-a967-11e9-84e5-09af2784f72b). I'm gonna take mini trips in the summer and fall. I'm looking forward seeing the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon (which I never knew we had one) and touring the Lancaster (Amish Country) area. Do you have any plans to travel to this year? Hope you are well. Your Friend, Joey Keyser

        1. Erin Ordakowski July 22, 2022

I am well, thanks for asking. The trips you have planned sound fun. I've been talking with my parents about going to our cottage on Lake Huron this summer. I haven't been there in years, so I'm really looking forward to going back there this summer. It's great that you found that petition about adding Stanley to Disney+. Hopefully, it gets their attention and then they finally add the show to Disney+.

  14. Erin Ordakowski July 5, 2022

Hey. About all of the things that I want them to add to add to Disney+ this summer ... I've thought some more this month about exactly what I want to be added when, I went to Wikipedia to see whether or not it said anything on there about any of those programs ever being added to Disney+, and I found some results. Earlier this year, in late February and early March, it said that JoJo's Circus was expected to arive on Disney+ in the near future. Now, it says: ''As of March 25th, 2022, the series is not yet available for streaming on Disney+.'' And it says about The Buzz On Maggie: ''The series is not yet available for streaming on Disney+.'' It didn't say anything on there about PB&J Otter, The Legend of Tarzan, I'm In the Band, Totally Circus, Totally in Tune, or Brandy & Mr. Whiskers ever being added to Disney+, and it didn't say anything about any of those shows not being added to Disney+. It didn't say anything about the Disney Channel Original Movie, The Jennie Project, ever being added to Disney+, or not being added to Disney+. And it didn't say anything about the 20th Century Fox movie, Monte Carlo, ever being added to Disney+, or not being added to Disney+. Zombies 3 has already been scheduled to become available on Disney+ for this month, so maybe Disney wants to put 1 DCOM up on Disney+ per month this year, starting this month. And maybe Disney wants to put 1-3 20th Century Fox movies up on Disney+ per month, starting next month. So, I started thinking: they should add JoJo's Circus, I'm In the Band, Totally Circus, and The Buzz On Maggie to Disney+ this month, and all those other programs -- PB&J Otter, The Legend of Tarzan, Totally in Tune, Brandy & Mr. Whiskers, The Jennie Project, and Monte Carlo -- to Disney+ next month.

  15. Erin Ordakowski July 19, 2022

Hey. About all the things that never became available on Disney+ before ... I've been thinking a lot more this month about exactly which of those things should become available on there when, and I know exactly which of those things I want them to put on there this month. I want them to put ... JoJo's Circus, I'm In The Band, Totally Circus, and The Buzz on Maggie up on Disney+ this month.
