Tim Federle Provides Update On Disney+ “Sister Act 3” Film
Earlier this month, Disney released a brand new original film, “Better Nate Than Ever”, on Disney+, which was created by Tim Federle, who is also directing the upcoming sequel to the popular 90s film, “Sister Act 3”.
In the original film, which is available on Disney+, A Reno singer witnesses a mob murder and the cops stash her in a nunnery to protect her from the mob’s hitmen. The mother superior does not trust her, and takes steps to limit her influence on the other nuns. Eventually, the singer rescues the failing choir and begins helping with community projects, which gets her an interview on TV—and identification by the mob.
During the press tour for “Better Nate Than Ever”, Tim Federle gave a small update on the upcoming Disney+ Original, said:
“I hope we are starting this year. I think the ‘Sister Act’ franchise is a big priority to the (Disney) studio scripts coming along and I think Whoopi is really excited.”
And in another interview with Collider, Tim mentioned the scheduling issues with the film:
“Now it’s just about schedules and chips falling where they may. [Scheduling] is literally everything.”
Very little is known about the upcoming Disney+ Original film, though Whoopi Goldberg is going to be returning in the main role and also previously teased Keke Palmer might be appearing in the film.
The new film will be written by Madhuri Shekar and is being executive produced by Whoopi Goldberg, Tyler Perry, and Tom Leonardis.
Are you looking forward to the return of “Sister Act”?
