Disney has released a brand new special extended episode of “The Kardashians” called “’Til Death Do Us Part Kourtney & Travis,” which gives us an inside look at the three weddings of Kourtney and Travis, which the second season of the show had been building up to.

In this episode, we get to see the couple and their guests enjoy a luxurious wedding weekend in Portofino, Italy.  And what a wedding this is, as it takes place at Dolce and Gabbana’s villa, which is perched on the side of a cliff in a beautiful location and the drone footage really provides a unique view of the castle.   The wedding also features plenty of other over-the-top moments, with special guests such as Machine Gun Kelly performing, stunning outfits and fireworks.  Having seen Kourtney go through years of issues with her ex, it’s nice to see her happy and in love.

The special features some private and personal footage that reveals an intimate family event full of beautiful moments. However, I’m not entirely sure how “intimate” it is, since there are so many assistants, film crew and other employees running around in the background making everything happen.

This special does feel a little bit different to your usual episode of the show, as it has a different video style, with more “home” footage (it’s not really home footage if they then show three people standing there with expensive cameras filming it) and it’s been edited to feel more “special”.   Coming in at over 70 minutes long, this special does feel a little bloated and could have been trimmed down a little, if they removed the kissing scenes between Kourtney and Travis, they probably could lose about 20 minutes!

If you are a fan of “The Kardashian” show, you know what to expect from this special, as the gangs are all here to celebrate the couple.  But this special highlights how they live in a different world from the rest of us.  Jumping from private planes to luxury yachts, with personal chefs, multiple makeup artists and designers making sure nothing is out of place and with photographers everywhere, hardly seems normal.  But it’s why so many people enjoy the show.  This isn’t reality.  It’s completely over the top and, in some ways, obscene.   “The Kardashians” is always a little over the top, but this felt like it was on another level.

“The Kardashians” are a guilty pleasure for me, I watch the show with my wife and understand why so many people love it, but this special just felt way too over the top. Something about this special just irritated me.  Having them talking about wanting it to be private and intimate, then basically taking over a small village in Italy and recording it for the world to see, isn’t private.  Everything in this special seemed to be “perfect”, and the couple would talk about how this whole event came together because of their vision, when in reality, hundreds of people were doing all the work. They basically just showed up and posed for the camera!    It’s great to see Kourtney and Travis happy and in love, but this special was too long and indulgent for my taste.

Rating – 3 out of 5
