During this weekend’s AnimeJapan 2023 event, which took place at Tokyo’s Big Sight in Japan, Bandai Namco Entertainment revealed a brand new anime series called “Synduality: Noir”, which will premiere in July 2023 across Japanese broadcasting networks and it will stream exclusively and simultaneously on Disney+ worldwide (though it wouldn’t be a surprise if this moves to Hulu in the US).

The new anime is set in 2242, and various settlements named “Nests” have been created above ground. The Enders are still a threat, and the Drifters are still fighting against them while hunting for AO Crystals, which are indispensable to the survival of the Nests.

One day, Kanata (voiced by Takeo Otsuka), a young man who dreams of becoming a drifter in the nest called Rocktown, visits ancient ruins with his buddy Tokio (Yusuke Kobayashi) and finds the dormant Magus Noir (Aoi Koga) sleeping there. That’s when destiny starts to unfold.

During the presentation, the opening theme song, “Raytracer” by Stereo Dive Foundation was played for the first time. It was also revealed that the anime will have an advance screening at Shinjuku Picadilly on May 21st 2023.

Yusuke Yamamoto is going to be directing the show which is based on the original story by Hajime Kamoshida.

The new anime will tie in with a brand new video game called “Synduality: Echo of Ada”, which will be released in 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

“Synduality: Noir” is the latest anime series to be picked for Disney+ subscribers around the world, which also includes “Tokyo Revengers” and “Bleach: A Thousand-Year Blood War”.
