The BBC has announced that it has renewed “Such Brave Girls” for a second season, the British comedy explores life and love in all its ugly chaos. The story follows a single mother, Deb, and her two daughters, Josie and Billie, attempting to piece their lives back together after their narcissistic father and husband finally leaves them.

“Such Brave Girls” is also released as a Hulu Original in the United States on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+.

This new series has been created by Various Artists Limited (VAL) and Phil Clarke, Managing Director for VAL said in a statement regarding the show being renewed, in addition to another British comedy series called “Juice”.

“I’m delighted that the BBC is bringing back Juice and Such Brave Girls from sparkling new comedy talents Mawaan and Kat. Both shows are fresh and highly original with something very funny and contemporary to say.”

Jon Petrie, Head of Comedy BBC also added:

“Mawaan and Kat are two of the funniest new voices in British comedy; in Juice and Such Brave Girls they created completely unique shows that made a real impact and were much-loved by audiences. It’s a no brainer to have them back for a second time!.”

The series was commissioned by Jon Petrie, Director of BBC Comedy and Fiona Campbell, Controller, Youth Audience (BBC iPlayer and BBC Three). The Executive producers are Kat Sadler, Jack Bayles and Phil Clarke for Various Artists Ltd in association with A24. The Director is Simon Bird and the Producer is Catherine Gosling Fuller.

Kat Sadler, who is the show’s writer and creator also shared some thoughts on the renewal:

“it’s a sick pleasure that these horrible characters get to live another day and I’m now contractually obliged put them through hell again. The BBC are masochists and I’m very grateful.”

You can watch “Such Brave Girls” on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on the BBC iPlayer in the UK.  No details have been announced on when the second season will be released.
