To tie in with the release of the new Disney+ Original series, “The Acolyte”, it’s been announced that the popular long-running game, “Star Wars: The Old Republic” is getting a tie-in, offering a set of items inspired by the new series.

While the video game is set thousands of years before the events of “The Acolyte”, the team have still take a look at some of the items that could have been found during the era of The Old Republic, which follows the war between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire, which has spread to new worlds! Dangerous fringe groups rise in the dark corners of the galaxy and Darth Malgus pursues an unknown plan… Players get to unravel these mysteries and more as their choices continue to shape the galaxy.

This new content is available now as part of Game Update 7.5, “Desperate Defiance”, and the following will be available on the Cartel Market from today:

• Dark Harbinger Armor Set – Dark Harbinger Hood (with hair) and Dark Harbinger Hood
• Wookiee Jedi inspired Hairstyle and Beard Customizations
• Serpent’s Tongue Vibroblade

Roger’s Take: It makes business sense that this game tries to tie in with the latest shows, since trying to get any attention on this long-running game is probably needed (maybe if they popped it on a console, I’d play it!), but the game’s setting of thousands before any movie or show, does mean its not the easiest for Disney to tie with.
