To celebrate the 25th anniversary of “Star Wars: Episode 1: The Phantom Menace”, Disney is going to be re-releasing the movie in cinemas for this year’s May The Fourth Day celebrations for a limited time.

Experience the heroic action and unforgettable adventures of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. See the first fateful steps in Anakin Skywalker’s journey.  Stranded on the desert planet Tatooine after rescuing young Queen Amidala from the impending invasion of Naboo, Jedi apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi and his Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn discover nine-year-old Anakin, a young slave unusually strong in the Force. Anakin wins a thrilling Podrace and, with it, his freedom as he leaves his home to be trained as a Jedi.

The heroes return to Naboo where Anakin and the Queen face massive invasion forces while the two Jedi contend with a deadly foe named Darth Maul. Only then do they realize the invasion is merely the first step in a sinister scheme by the re-emergent forces of darkness known as the Sith.

Matt Ferguson has also created a brand-new poster for the re-release featuring Darth Maul, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn and Queen Amidala.

“Star Wars: Episode 1: The Phantom Menace” is going to be released in cinemas on May 3rd 2024.   The film is also available to stream now on Disney+, but if you’ve never seen the film in cinemas or want to see it on the big screen once again, this is a perfect opportunity to do so.
