Disney has released a new sneak peek video, giving us a look at the first five minutes of a new special called “The Ghastly Ghoul”, which is airing on the Disney Channel in the United States during the Halloween period.
Every year, the monsters from Halloween World come to Earth for one glorious night of mischief before the gateway back to their world closes again. Gary, a cute little monster that doesn’t believe he’s scary enough, disguises himself as The Ghastly Ghoul. When he misses the gateway back home, he is trapped in the human world. Gary and Beatrix, who is struggling with her own insecurities, together help inspire self-belief in one another and try to find a way to get Gary home again in a Halloween night filled with magic and adventure.

The Irish special was produced by Lupus Films and Dream Logic Animation Studios. It was already released last year outside the United States, such as on Sky Kids in the UK and Ireland. So Disney has just recently acquired the special. It’s unknown if this special will also be available to stream soon on Disney+, but it is also available now to stream on DisneyNOW.
This special has been written by Emma Hogan and directed by Kealan O’Rourke and Maurizio Parimbelli, with assistant director Corinne Ladeinde. Brian Willis, Stephen Smith, Ruth Fielding and Camilla Deakin have executive produced the special.
