Earlier this week, during a special showcase for the Asia-Pacific region, ahead of the release of Disney+ in South Korea next month, Disney announced a brand new Korean drama series called “Grid”.

This new mystery thriller is about a mysterious being, who saved mankind from a crisis, suddenly reappears and helps a murderer. This mystery thriller follows a government official and a detective who tenaciously delve into many secrets and find the truth.

The series will star Seo Kang-jun, Kim A-joong and Si-young.

“Grid” is being created by award-winning writer Lee Su-yeon and will be directed by Lee Khan.

Jessica Kam-Engle, Disney’s APAC Head of Content & Development, explained that the newly announced Asia-Pacific originals will also be available on Disney+ in other countries.

“Our production strategy is centred on working with the best local storytellers in the region, leveraging our brand power, scale and dedication to creative excellence. We look forward to collaborating with award-winning and emerging creative talent in Asia Pacific and sharing authentic stories that reflect the unique cultural and social dynamics from this region to global audiences.”

During the event, Seo Kang-jun shared his thoughts on “Grid” being released on Disney+.

“I don’t think I will be affected by cultural influences or differences when I see Grid abroad or when seen domestically. I’m really excited and looking forward to what kind of evaluation it will get.”

No release date has been announced yet.
