Disney’s Searchlight Pictures has announced the upcoming film, “Empire Of Light”, will be getting a theatrical release on December 9th 2022.

“Empire Of Light” is a romantic drama romance is set in and around a beautiful old cinema on the South Coast of England in the 1980s.

The film has been written and directed by Sam Mendes, who has previously worked on “American Beauty”, “Skyfall”, and “1917”.

“Empire Of Light” stars Colin Firth, Olivia Colman, Toby Jones, Sara Stewart, Michael Ward and Tanya Moodie.

With the film coming to cinemas in early December, we can expect to see the film released on Disney+ internationally in early 2023.  In the US, this film will likely be one of the last few films released that will fall under the HBO contract, which is expected to end at the end of the year.
