Over two years ago, Disney’s Searchlight Pictures announced that it acquired a brand new film called “Nightbitch”, which is based on Rachel Yoder’s acclaimed debut novel, which tells the story of a woman thrown into the stay-at-home routine of raising a toddler in the suburbs, who slowly embraces the feral power deeply rooted in motherhood, as she becomes increasingly aware of the bizarre and undeniable signs that she may be turning into a canine.

Originally, the film was going to be released directly onto Disney’s streaming services, including Hulu and Disney+; however, today, Disney has announced that “Nightbitch” will be released in cinemas on December 6th 2024. So we should expect to see the film released on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ around the world at some point in the first half of 2025.

“Nightbitch” stars 6-time Academy Award nominee Amy Adams, who has previously starred in the Disney+ Original film, “Disenchanted” and it has been directed and written by Marielle Heller “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood”.

Amy Adams and Marielle Heller are producing the film, along with Anne Carey, Sue Naegle, Christina Oh, and Stacy O’Neil.

This is the latest film to be moved from a straight-to-streaming release to theatrical, as Disney looks to refocus on making more money from its films. “Alien: Romulus” was also going to be released straight onto Hulu and Disney+, but Disney also decided to release it in cinemas first.
