Searchlight Pictures Developing New Film “Again Again Again”
Searchlight Pictures has picked up the spec for a brand new film called “Again Again Again” by Joel Kim Booster, who previously worked with the studio on “Fire Island”.
This new film tells the story of Gus, who as the man of honor for his closest friend Maggie’s extravagant wedding weekend at a Napa winery, is tasked with making sure the whole event goes off without a hitch. But when Gus’s wildly charismatic but emotionally unstable boyfriend Hal shows up unexpectedly, chaos ensues and threatens to derail the wedding as well as their relationship.
Joel will be writing and producing the film and its expected that Joel will star in the movie. Also producing the film will be Local Time‘s Lulu Wang and Daniele Tate Melia, who previously worked on “The Farewell”.
Development on the new film had begun before last year’s writer’s strike, but nothing had been known about the project until Deadline had reported on it.
It’s not currently clear when “Again Again Again” will begin production nor if it’s going to be released in cinemas first, or released directling onto Disney’s streaming services.
