This coming May, Disney is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the release of “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace” by re-releasing the movie in cinemas for a limited time (though if you can’t wait, you can watch it right now on Disney+!)

Recently, Samuel L Jackson spoke with Empire to promote the upcoming re-release and was asked about the role he played in the prequel trilogy, Mace Windu, a Jedi master, who sadly was seen to be killed at the hands of the soon-to-be Emperor at the end of “Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith”.

Since that film’s release, many fans have questioned if Mace Windu actually died in that scene, as we see him fall out of a very high window after being electrocuted.  And since we’ve seen many other characters return from apparent death, Samuel was asked about Mace’s death scene, to which he replied:

“HE’S NOT DEAD!!!”

Recently, we’ve seen other characters from the Clone War era return, and many, like Ahsoka and Obi-Wan Kenobi, have been given their own series.  When asked if Samuel would like to return to do a Mace Windu series for Disney+, he simply said:

“EVERYTHING YES!!”

Samuel L Jackson is no stranger to appearing in series; most recently, he was the lead character of Nick Fury in the Marvel Studios “Secret Invasion” series, and there is little doubt that he’d like to don a Jedi robe once again and wield a lightsaber.

There are plenty of stories that could be told about Mace Windu, as a brand new four-part comic book series is set to be released soon by Marvel, which is going to fill in the gaps of Mace’s adventures prior to the events of “The Phantom Menace”.

However, with Lucasfilm slowing down how many shows it makes for Disney+ and focusing on theatrical releases for the next few years, plus with Samuel now 75 years old, realistically, it might be a push for a whole series, but it certainly would be an exciting idea to explore, or at least feature in a cameo.
