We are only just over a week away from the premiere of the third season of “The Mandalorian”, and while that’s the focus of the Star Wars universe right now, fans’ eyes are always looking to what’s next.  There is another other major new Star Wars show set to hit our screens this year,  “Ahsoka”, which is set within the same time period as “The Mandalorian” and will see Rosario Dawson return in the title role. The show is set after the fall of the Empire, “Ahsoka” follows the former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy. The new series is being created by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, with Katheleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, Carrie Beck, and Karen Gilchrist are also executive producers on the series.

Earlier this year, Disney released a short teaser video highlighting some of the new shows coming to Disney+ in 2023, which included the first look at “Ahsoka”, but we still don’t know when it will arrive on the streaming service.

During a recent interview on TODAY with Hoda and Jenna, “Ahsoka” star Rosario Dawson revealed that the show would likely have a premiere date window for the upcoming Disney+ series.

“‘Ahsoka,’ that’s going to probably come out in the Fall. We’re going to have ‘Haunted Mansion’ coming out in August [this has been recently pushed to up to late July] first.”

“Haunted Mansion” is due to be released in cinemas on July 28th 2023, so a Fall release could line the show up with a release similar to “Andor”, which dropped on Disney+ in September last year.   Disney has already announced that two animated series, “Young Jedi Adventures” and the second season of “Visions”, will be released on Disney+ on Star Wars Day on May 4th 2023.

Disney is also expected to release “Skeleton Crew” later this year, but with Disney trying to cut costs within the entertainment division by $3 billion, which has resulted in the Marvel Disney+ shows being delayed and spread out, so it’s not a huge surprise to hear “Ahsoka” is dropping much later in the year than many expected.

Disney is hosting Star Wars: Celebration, a special four-day event in London over the Easter weekend, so hopefully, we will get some more details soon, especially as Rosario Dawson will be attending the event.
