Disney’s FX is currently filming a brand new drama limited series, “Justified: City Primeval”, which is set seven years after the events of the FX series, “Justified” and is based on the author’s City Primeval: High Noon In Detroit novel.

The new series description says that his hair is grayer, his hat is dirtier, and the road in front of him is suddenly a lot shorter than the road behind. A chance encounter on a desolate Florida highway sends him to Detroit. There he crosses paths with Clement Mansell, aka The Oklahoma Wildman, a violent, sociopathic desperado who’s already slipped through the fingers of Detroit’s finest once and aims to do so again. Mansell’s lawyer, formidable Motor City native Carolyn Wilder, has every intention of representing her client, even as she finds herself caught in between cop and criminal, with her own game afoot as well. These three characters set out on a collision course in classic Elmore Leonard fashion, to see who makes it out of the City Primeval alive.”

Timothy Olyphant is reprising the role and will be also an executive producer on the show, alongside the original creator Graham Yost and the showrunners and writers Dave Andron and Michael Dinner. Michael Dinner will also be directing the new series.

Deadline is reporting that Ravi Patel has joined the series in a recurring role. He has previously starred in “The Valet” and “Meet the Patels”. Ravi will be playing the role of Rick Newley.

The series will also star Aunjanue Ellis (King Richard), Boyd Holbrook (The Premise), Adelaide Clemens (The Great Gatsby), Vondie Curtis Hall (Harriet), Marin Ireland (Y: The Last Man), Norbert Leo Butz (Bloodline), Victor Williams (The Good Lord Bird) and Vivian Olyphant.

“Justified” ran for six seasons on FX from 2010-2015 and is available to stream on Hulu. It’s likely that this series will be released on Disney+ internationally as a Star Original, though that hasn’t yet been officially confirmed.
