Charles finds himself somewhat renewing his relationship with Jan, Mabel learns someone is lying to her while she still continues to date them, and while Oliver continues his efforts to determine who really killed Bunny, he discovers a secret that can damage his family while allowing Teddy’s promise to come to pass. That’s all in the most recent episode of the Disney+
Star/Hulu Original Series, “Only Murders in the Building.”

The majority of this episode is a hit for me. I love seeing Oliver being able to deduce when someone is lying to him. He can tell the woman from the art gallery is lying about something in her situation. While that doesn’t necessarily mean that she’s the killer, it gives Oliver and Charles a lead to follow that allows for more secrets to be exposed. While she wasn’t the killer, it
leads to a blow-up between Oliver, Charles and Mabel; adding drama to this season that’s already been filled with it.

I’m not too keen on the somewhat rekindled relationship between Charles and Jan. I understand Charles was very lonely when the series started. I understand Jan filled some of that loneliness void. But Jan killed Tim Kono and tried to kill Charles. I have a hard time believing that any man, no matter how lonely, would go back to a woman who he knows has murdered one man and tried to murder him. Yes, he’s rationalizing that she’s in prison and it’s not a relationship, but he’s giving into temptation every time he’s on the phone with her and it just doesn’t sit right with me.

I’m still unsure about how I feel about the reveal that Teddy appears to have been having an affair with Oliver’s wife and may actually be the father of Oliver’s son. While it wouldn’t be the first time that someone close to someone had an affair and fathered a child, it seems very odd that all of this is coming up right after Teddy let it be known that he was going to get back at
Oliver. Teddy probably wasn’t referring to an affair 30 years prior, but who knows. Maybe I’m scoffing at the convenience, or maybe Teddy knows someone who can tamper with ancestry websites. Maybe it’s part of an elaborate ruse. If so, I’m okay with it. If not, it feels odd that Oliver would find this out right after Teddy told him, in no uncertain terms, to watch his back. I guess I’ll have to wait to see how this one plays out.

While there were some misses this week, I’m still thoroughly enjoying the show and can’t wait for the next episode. I’m cautiously optimistic about what’s going to happen next. So far, this show has kept me engaged, which was my fear after the strength of the first season. Some shows have great first seasons and some shows are great shows. I think we’ve got a great show on our hands.
