Disney has announced a brand new Korean drama series called “Vigilante”, which is going to tell the story of the journey of a young man bent on seeking revenge after witnessing his mother’s brutal murder as a child. Since the traumatic event, Kim Jiyong has dedicated himself to martial arts, becoming an exemplary student at the police academy. Upon his mother’s attacker’s release, Jiyong catches him in the midst of another assault, setting him on a path of taking justice into his own hands, garnering unwelcome attention from the media and police.  Refusing to give up his mission, Jiyong finds himself assuming the role of a vigilante, correcting the wrongs of repeat offenders.

The new series is going to be directed by Choi Jeong-yeol and it will consist of eight episodes.   It is based on the popular webtoon of the same name by CRG and Kim Kyusam.  The brand new series is going to star Nam Joohyuk as Jiyong, alongside Jo Heon, Lee Junhyuk and Kim Sojin.

“Vigilante” will arrive in the second half of the year on Disney+ in Korea, and we should expect to see the series follow other Korean Disney+ Original shows be released internationally on Disney+ and likely on Hulu in the United States.
