Not really, I'm getting sick and tired of Disney remakes with poor story development. Why is the Disney company rebooting Home Alone. We already have 5 Home Alone movies. Also the plot from the 1990s of Kevins family rushing to the airport won't work anymore as airports have high security. They would either have to have his family stranded on being on Amtrak Train or on a Cruise ship or on the Greyhound bus or stranded at the airport. Also we now use cellphones as Kevin's mom can easily call him, unless they have Kevin ignore the cellphone and text message calls. And also Kevin would likely be surfing the Internet, make online social friends or stream videos and would play video games. There wouldn't be VCRs, landlines, analog TVs being used anymore like in the 1990s film. Also the burglars in the film would have to contact Kevin through the use of email, social media and facebook and try to scam Kevin out of his money and he would have to be clever before they decide to invade his house. Also are they going have Kevin use modern traps like in Home Alone 4 or 5? So I'm assuming this remake will be like Home Alone 4 and 5. If so then I'm not really interested as it sounds like a rehashed Disney remake unless they come up with a good story line for the Home Alone reboot as I'm only interested in good story telling at this point.

I think that it isn't a remake so much as an out-of-universe spin-off with different characters

Well The DisInsider (a major Disney site), reported that this new Home Alone might act as a secret sequel to the first 2 Home Alone films instead of being a complete reboot cause there are rumors that some characters from the first 2 films will pop up in this new Home Alone and those rumored characters are Buzz McCallister, Harry, Marv and most importantly Kevin McCallister. Plus another rumor The DisInsider reported is that Disney wants Macaulay Culkin to appear in this new Home Alone and possibly reprise his role as Kevin, so this is Disney saying yes this is a new story but it will be in-universe with the first 2 Home Alone films and acknowledge them while retconning the last 3 films, yes they would have to modernize things since the world has drastically changed over the past 30 years since those first 2 films came out but if this film captures the magic of the first 2 films while modernizing it it could work very well.
