“NCIS” Season 21 Disney+ UK Return Date Announced
Earlier this year, the first five episodes of the latest season of the long-running drama “NCIS” series were released on Disney+ in the UK, but last month, new weekly episodes just stopped, but for fans of the show, here’s some good news, Disney has announced that “NCIS” will be returning with new episodes in the United Kingdom and Ireland later this month, with a brand new episode arriving on Disney+ on Wednesday 22nd May 2024.
“NCIS” aka Naval Criminal Investigative Service, is more than just an action drama. With liberal doses of humour, it’s a show that focuses on the sometimes complex and always amusing dynamics of a team forced to work together in high-stress situations. From murder and espionage to terrorism and stolen submarines, these special agents investigate all crimes with Navy or Marine Corps ties.
The series stars Brian Dietzen, Diona Reasonover, Gary Cole, Katrina Law, Rocky Carroll, Sean Murray, and Wilmer Valderrama.
While the series was created by CBS, aka Paramount, Disney still has the UK distribution rights due to purchasing the FOX channel as part of the larger purchase of 20th Century Fox.
The first twenty seasons are available to stream on Disney+ in the UK and Ireland now, along with the first five episodes of the latest season. Due to the actors/writers’ strikes, the latest season is much shorter, with fewer episodes.
Years ago, new American series would tend to get held back from a UK release in order to have a new episode drop each week for the entire season, without any breaks. In the US, there are often small hiatus throughout a season for a variety of different reasons, and now, with new episodes arriving from the United States earlier than in previous years, we are feeling the impact when these hiatus happen.
