Disney has announced that the Korean superhero series, “Moving”, has become the most-watched Korean Original on Dinsey+ globally and is the most-watched series on Disney+ across the Asia-Pacific region and has the biggest premiere on Disney+ in Korea to date. While in the United States, the series is also the most-watched Korean show on Hulu, based on the hours streamed within the first week.

“Moving” is set in the 1990s, South Korea’s National Intelligence Service (NIS) established a black ops team of superpowered individuals. Tasked with carrying out classified missions, members of this elite unit used their powers to defend the country and achieve the impossible on a daily basis. Despite their successes, one day the team suddenly went dark and dispersed, never to be heard from again.

A few decades later, Bongseok, a boy who could float before he could walk, and Huisoo, a girl who survived a horrific car crash unscathed, end up at the same school, quickly becoming close after confiding their secrets in each other. But while life seems relatively carefree for the teenagers, a mysterious delivery driver named Frank begins murdering people with powers across Seoul. With danger drawing ever closer, will anyone be able to stop Frank before he uncovers the children’s secrets?

Carol Choi, Executive Vice President of Original Content Strategy, for the Walt Disney Company APAC said in a statement:

“The global consumer response towards the first 11 episodes of Moving has exceeded our expectations. From the U.S. to all across APAC, it is fast becoming a breakout hit with its captivating storyline, world-class cast and incredible post-production effects — all coming together to deliver exceptional storytelling.”

Disney released seven episodes at once for the premiere on Hulu in the US and on Disney+ around the world, along with two new episodes being released every Wednesday. A three-episode finale is set to be released on September 20th 2023. With a hybrid release, offering a binge drop to get audiences into the series, along with weekly releases have kept viewers coming in to watch the superhero show.

“Moving” is the latest Korean original to be released on Disney’s streaming services, which have included “Snowdrop”, “Soundtrack #1”, “Big Bet”, “Rookie Cops”, and many more.
