Last week, Disney released the first two episodes of a new Marvel Animated series, “X-Men ’97” on Disney+ around the world.   The show is a revival of the classic animated series that revisits the iconic era of the 1990s as The X-Men, a band of mutants who use their uncanny gifts to protect a world that hates and fears them, are challenged like never before, forced to face a dangerous and unexpected new future.

Disney has revealed that the premiere of “X-Men” was watched 4 million times over the first five days, and Disney defines a view as hours divided by runtime.

“X-Men ’97” is the most viewed full-length animated series premiere on Disney+ since the first season of “What If?” back in August 2021.

By comparison, the second season of “Loki” premiered with 10.9 Million Views over the first three days on Disney+, the first episode of “Star Wars: Ahsoka” drew in 14 million views and “The Little Mermaid” pulled in 16 million views in the first five days.

The release of the new “X-Men ’97” series also gave a boost of viewership to the original animated series, as there was a 522% increase in viewership since the first trailer of “X-Men ’97” was released in February, as fans started binge watching to get caught up ahead of the new show’s release.

The voice cast includes Ray Chase as Cyclops, Jennifer Hale as Jean Grey, Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm, Cal Dodd as Wolverine, JP Karliak as Morph, Lenore Zann as Rogue, George Buza as Beast, AJ LoCascio as Gambit, Holly Chou as Jubilee, Isaac Robinson-Smith as Bishop, Matthew Waterson as Magneto, and Adrian Hough as Nightcrawler.

The show’s head writer is Beau DeMayo, and the episodes are directed by Jake Castorena, Chase Conley and Emi Yonemura, and the series is executive-produced by Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso and DeMayo. The show features music by the Newton Brothers.

The original “X-Men” series is available on Disney+, along with the first two episodes of “X-Men ’97”.
