Later this year, Marvel Studios is set to begin production on a brand new series for Disney+ called “Vision Quest”, which is going to be a follow-on from the Disney+ series, “WandaVision” and will pick up the story of what happened after White Vision left Westview.
In the finale of “WandaVision”, two different versions of Vision did battle, with Wanda’s version of Vision restoring the memories in the “Ghost” White version of Vision, resulting in the character flying off, before Wanda’s Vision faded away.

The new series will see Paul Bettany return as Vision, and it’s recently been revealed that Terry Matalas has been brought onto the project to be the new showrunner for the Disney+ series, having previously worked on the Amazon series, “Star Trek: Picard”.  Originally, “WandaVision” showrunner Jac Schaeffer was going to be the head creator on the new series, but has been working on other projects for Marvel, including “Agatha All Along”.

According to insider Daniel RPK, Marvel is currently looking to cast an 18 to 20-year-old to star as one of the series’ co-leads, though no other details have been revealed about what character they are currently looking for.

Very little is known about the upcoming “Vision Quest”, such as what the plot will be, or who will be starring in it, but it’s expected we will see Billy Maximoff, aka Billy Kaplan, aka Wiccan, star in the new series, since he will be reintroduced in the upcoming “Agatha All Along” series. Billy Maximoff debuted in “WandaVision” and is the son of Vision and Wanda, but sadly vanished at the end of the series. In the upcoming “Agatha All Along” series, we will no doubt see how Wiccan will be reintroduced as a reincarnated version of Billy Maximoff.

With filming on “Vision Quest” set to begin later this Fall, it’s unlikely we will see the show actually arrive on Disney+ until 2026, since Marvel already has “Ironheart”, “Wonder Man” and “Daredevil: Born Again” filmed. I also wouldn’t be surprised if this is one of the major Marvel announcements to be confirmed at the upcoming D23 Ultimate Fan Event in August.

Roger’s Take: It wouldn’t surprise me if, in “Vision Quest”, we get the introduction of Thomas Shepherd, aka Tommy Maximoff, aka Speed. And following the events of a pre-credit scene in “The Marvels”, Wiccan and Speed are likely to become future members of the Young Avengers with Ms Marvel, Cassie Lang and Kate Bishop, plus possibly Ironheart and Vision. But Disney will need to get a wriggle on. All of these young actors are getting older, and with so many delays, they hopefully won’t take too long.
