Marvel’s “Loki” Season 2 To Release At A Earlier Time
For years, Disney+ subscribers in the United States and Canada have been complaining about major new shows debuting on Disney+ in the middle of the night. But last month, Disney announced it would be making a change from the usual upload time, bringing it forward six hours, to 6 pm PT/9 pm ET for the new Star Wars series, “Ahsoka”.
And it looks like this has been a huge success, because Disney has announced it will be doing the same thing for the upcoming season season of Marvel Studios’ “Loki”.
Initially, the series was announced to arrive on Disney+ on Friday 6th, October 2023, with new episodes dropping weekly. But today, Disney has confirmed that a new episode of “Loki”, will be released at the same time as “Ahsoka”, at 6 pm PT/9 pm ET on Thursday 5th October 2023. Though for those Disney+ subscribers in Europe, Asia and the Pacific, the show will continue to be released on Friday 6th, October 2023, but just six hours earlier than the standard release time.
This shift in release time, by just six hours, allows Disney+ subscribers across North and South America, to enjoy the show during primetime, hopefully, increasing viewership and more social media engagement. However, for me, it means I can now watch it the moment I wake up on Fridays.
Disney has also released a new featurette for the series:
“Loki” Season 2 picks up in the aftermath of the shocking season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority. Along with Mobius, Hunter B-15 and a team of new and returning characters, Loki navigates an ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose.
The series stars Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Eugene Cordero, Rafael Casal, Tara Strong, Kate Dickie, Liz Carr, Neil Ellice, with Jonathan Majors, Ke Huy Quan and Owen Wilson. Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead, Dan Deleeuw and Kasra Farahani direct episodes. The head writer is Eric Martin. Kevin Feige, Stephen Broussard, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Kevin R. Wright, Tom Hiddleston, Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead, Eric Martin and Michael Waldron are the executive producers, with Trevor Waterson serving as co-executive producer.
