Marvel’s “Loki” Season 2 First Reactions Revealed
This coming Thursday evening, Disney is releasing the first episode of the second season of Marvel Studios “Loki” on Disney+ and just ahead of the premiere, Disney has held some special screenings across the US for fans and critics, plus some other selected critics have also been able to watch the first four episodes of “Loki” in advance.
The second season picks up in the aftermath of the shocking season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority. Along with Mobius, Hunter B-15 and a team of new and returning characters, Loki navigates an ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose.
Here are some of the critic’s initial reaction to the second season of “Loki”:
A lot of the @MarvelStudios @DisneyPlus series have been disappointing. Saying that, I’m so happy to report #LokiSeason2 is absolutely worth your time. Have seen 4 of the 6 episodes and they’re excellent. Also Ke Huy Quan is AWESOME and a big part of Season 2. Can’t wait to see… pic.twitter.com/ksAZcCwn28

The multiverse is still messy, but #LokiSeason2 has a clear idea of where it’s going, and the cast is better than ever. It’s so incredibly obvious how much Tom Hiddleston adores this character, and the life he continues to breathe into him is so rewarding to watch. #Loki pic.twitter.com/hqdn9UFHfn

I've seen four episodes of #LokiSeason2, and it's outstanding! It goes much deeper into the importance of the TVA, introduces terrific new characters (Ke Huy Quan is PERFECT as O.B.), and takes S1 characters down wild avenues. I screamed at the conclusion of Ep. 4. Huge recommend pic.twitter.com/8cblDLLGgg

Loki season two cements the series as the best of the Disney+ Marvel shows. It's about as self-contained as they get. For those that have checked out, check back in for this show. It's dark, dreary, and has that impending sense of doom that only Kang can bring #LokiSeason2 #Loki pic.twitter.com/2pI7jvjTaK

#LokiSeason2 is a mixed bag so far.
Ep 1-2 exposition heavy with rushed conclusions to select story lines that had me puzzled..
Ep 3-4 FLAWLESS & has some of my favorite stuff from this entire show. Some choices even had my jaw drop on the floor in a good way! Loved these two pic.twitter.com/she1qC6Dqn

What I really appreciate about #LokiSeason2 is that it feels like an MCU story that needs to be told. I've enjoyed the TV shows and movies of the Multiverse Saga to varying degrees thus far. However, this series just has a true sense of urgency that some of its peers don't have. pic.twitter.com/L61iAoLgQt

#LokiSeason2 is an intense, intimate deep dive on the nuance of free will vs pre-determinism.
Whacky sci-fi ideas engross the terrifying world of the TVA but the integrity of the epic story is the emotional depths granted to its remarkable ensemble.
4 Eps in it's MCU in top form. pic.twitter.com/c2VdypyRtD— Rennywise @ LFF (@RenGeekness) October 3, 2023
I got to watch 4 episodes of #LOKI SEASON 2
It picks up right where S1 left off w/ a frenetic & intense premiere. It’s excellent.
The series manages to tell an epic & grand story while feeling personal & intimate.
Loki continues to be Marvel’s best series. #LokiSeason2 pic.twitter.com/UZ09b5oWHP

#LokiSeason2 is lightning fast-paced, high stakes, unfiltered chaos, and frankly, it's incredible. Story moves quick but with good flow, bromance and the supporting cast (especially Quan) are amazing, score is euphoric, and the cinematography is breathtaking. #LOKI IS BACK! pic.twitter.com/Z3ZMJpoGgb

Had a chance to watch the first 4 episodes of #LokiSeason2! It's cemented my opinion that #Loki is by far the best #MarvelStudios show.
Although not quite as good as the first season, #LokiS2 is still very captivating and clever, and it leaves me wanting more. Tom Hiddleston… pic.twitter.com/u1u95XGpat
