Disney has announced a special episode of Marvel Studios’ “Assembled” series that will take a look at the making of the new Disney+ Original series, “Agatha All Along”.

“Assembled” is a comprehensive documentary series of specials that goes behind the scenes of Marvel’s latest shows and movies, following the filmmakers, cast and crew, and Marvel heroes every step of the way. The series takes us behind the scenes with the cast and creative team who brought the series to life.

In Marvel Studios’ “Agatha All Along,” the infamous Agatha Harkness finds herself down and out of power after a suspicious goth Teen helps break her free from a distorted spell. Her interest is piqued when he begs her to take him on the legendary Witches’ Road, a magical gauntlet of trials that, if survived, rewards a witch with what they’re missing. Together, Agatha and this mysterious Teen pull together a desperate coven, and set off down, down, down The Road…

In this special episode of “Assembled”, Kathryn Hahn, Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke, and more invite viewers behind-the-scenes of this groundbreaking series.

The executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Mary Livanos and Jac Schaeffer, who is also the head writer and directed three episodes, with Rachel Goldberg and Gandja Monteiro also directing three episodes of the original live-action series.

Disney has previously released episodes of “Assembled” for all of its films and shows in the fourth and fifth phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the launch of Disney+.   Earlier this week, Disney released an episode of “Assembled” about “Deadpool & Wolverine”, though it wasn’t announced in advance and was a surprise release on Disney+.

Unlike other episodes of “Assembled”, Disney is going to be releasing the episode on YouTube, rather than directly on Disney+.

Roger’s Take:  I’ve been looking forward to learning more about how they created “Agatha All Along”, since they made this series very differently to other recent Marvel shows, with lots more practice effects, plus the cast look to have had a lot of fun making the series.

The choice to debut the show on YouTube rather than on Disney+ seems a little odd, but Disney might be treating this more like an advert for the show rather than an original, as Disney has released previous “Assembled” specials on YouTube in the past. I’d expect it will also be released on Disney+ at some point   These “Assembled” shows have always just felt like an extended bonus feature for a DVD.
